Comprehensive Eye Exams
Regular eye exams are not only important for your sight but for your overall health as well. Eye conditions such as glaucoma and macular degeneration rarely show any symptoms until they are in the late stages of disease. Systemic conditions such as diabetes or high blood pressure can also appear in the eye before being diagnosed by your family physician. It is recommended children (19 and under) are seen yearly for a comprehensive eye exam. Adults are recommended to be seen every 2 years and those who are 65 and older are recommended to be seen yearly.
Contact Lens Exams
Contacts have come a long way in the past 10 years. There are now multiple options for most prescriptions, including astigmatism and even bifocals. Our staff will take the time to teach proper contact lens insertion & removal & how to properly care for your contacts.
Pediatric Exams
It is recommended that children see an optometrist before starting school. If you suspect your child may have a vision problem before that, it is recommended they are seen sooner. All children aged 19 and under are covered for yearly examinations by the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP).
Vision problems such as amblyopia (one eye is weaker than the other) or refractive errors (needing glasses) can be detected early. If amblyopia is diagnosed early enough it can be reversed, giving your child the best vision possible as they progress through school.
